RE-EMPOWERED project presented at the VII National Renewable Energy Congress of Spain

On November 30th and December 1st, 2023, APPA Renovables- Asociación de Empresas de Energías Renovables, the Spanish Renewable Energy Company Association, organized the VII National Renewable Energy Congress of Spain (VII Congreso Nacional de Energías Renovables), in Madrid.

The VII National Renewable Energy Congress is the most relevant event related to renewable energies in Spain, and it is celebrated annually. The congress has as objective to be the meeting point for the professionals of the renewable energy sector.

The event, celebrated in Mutua Madrileña Auditorium, Paseo de Eduardo Dato, 20, Madrid, hosted 14 lectures, offered during all day November 30th and the morning of December 1st, 2023. During the congress, some of the most relevant topics related to renewable energy in Spain were discussed. Along the morning of November 30th, the renewable energy capacity tenders in Spain, which should be able to connect up to 80 GW, or the new regulatory and economic frameworks for the energy storage and the record-breaking renewable energy power capacity which will be installed until 2030, where the most relevant subjects mentioned.

During the afternoon of the first day, there were lectures related to a new power system without power discharges, the current, secondary, and future new power markets, and the challenges of renewable energy capacity permitting for Autonomous Regions in Spain. The second day was focused on the social acceptance of wind energy and energy communities, the hybridization, repowering, and energy storage in renewable energy projects, as well as the difficulties for financing renewable energy projects. The day finished with an analysis of the solar PV self-consumption, and the use of biogas, biomethane and renewable hydrogen for decarbonizing transport and industry.
