On November 30th and December 1st, 2022, APPA Renovables, the Spanish Association of Renewable Energy Companies, organized the VI National Renewable Energies Congress in Madrid, Spain.
The VI National Renewable Energies Congress is the most relevant event related to renewable energies in Spain, and is celebrated annually. The congress has as objective to be the meeting point for the professionals of the renewable energy sector.
The event, celebrated in Mutua MadrileƱa Auditorium, Paseo de Eduardo Dato, 20, Madrid, consisted of 12 lectures, offered during all day November 30th and the morning of December 1st, 2022. The main topics which were analyzed included the contribution of renewable energies to the energy crisis of Europe, the current situation with the renewable energy projects which need to be connected to the grids and the renewable energy auction model in Spain.
During the afternoon of the first day, there were lectures related to the price variations of the electric market in Spain, as well as the difficulties that big-scale renewable energy projects are facing: confusing paperwork and social rejection.
In the morning of December 1st, the most relevant technological advances related to renewable energies were analyzed. Among them, the energy communities, ways to integrate variable renewable energies in the electricity markets, and renewable hydrogen. The last part of the event was focused on financing renewable energy projects, and policies to reach the 2030 objective of 74% of electricity consumption based on renewable energy sources.
