From 1st to 6th of February RE- EMPOWERED EU partners visited India, participating in an exciting week of site visits and meetings . During this week, the partners had the opportunity to:
- Visit the demo sites of Ghoramara and Keonjhar where we had the chance to witness the innovative installations that have taken place in the framework of RE-EMPOWERED, as well as meet, engage and discuss with the local community regarding their experience and their future needs and insights
- Visit the universities of IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bhubaneswar where we were welcomed by the academics and had the pleasure to explore the laboratories and the facilities of the institutes
- Participate in the 5th Consortium Plenary Meeting of RE-EMPOWERED project in IIT Bhubaneswar, during which the progress and the next steps and activities of the project were discussed
- Participate in the joint meeting in IIT Bombay, between RE-EMPOWERED and SUSTENANCE, projects of the Horizon Topic “Integrated local energy systems (Energy islands): International cooperation with India”. During the joint meeting, we had the luck to exchange plenty of experiences and lessons learnt from the two projects. The event was concluded with a poster session and networking time among the partners of the 2 sister projects.
We would like to thank our Indian partners for the incredible hospitality and excellent coordination of the project activities. As we are running through the last year of the project, we are looking forward for the next visits to the EU demo sites, Kythnos and Bornholm and the further deepening if EU – India collaboration.
