Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, founded in 1961 as the College of Engineering, was later designated as an Institution of National Importance under the “Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963” and renamed “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi”. Since its inception, over 48000 have graduated from IIT Delhi in various disciplines, including Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management and Humanities & Social Sciences. These alumni today work as scientists, technologists, business managers and entrepreneurs.IIT Delhi has adopted a simple philosophy: Get the brilliant minds, create the right atmosphere for them to flourish and then step back and watch them grow into confident adults or world leaders. To expand further, IIT Delhi has established two extension campuses in Sonepat and Jhajjar, totalling 100 acres, which will be largely used for research and outreach activities.
