RE-EMPOWERED was presented by the European Coordinator Nikos Hatziargyriou (ICCS – NTUA ) in the 2023 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting that took place in Orlando, Florida. During an insightful panel session entitled ‘High Renewable Energy Penetrations within Isolated and Remote Area Power Systems’ the strong European-Indian collaboration for the electrification of energy islands that has been established in the framework of RE-EMPOWERED has been highlighted.
The 2023 IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) General Meeting (GM) was held in person on 16 – 20 July 2023. The theme of this year’s conference was Meeting the Energy Needs of a Dynamic World. The IEEE PES GM is the premier annual power and electrical engineering event that brings together leading PES members, power and electrical engineers, key academics, and engineering students from all over the world.
