On Tuesday 23rd of May RE-EMPOWERED was presented during 13th DER Lab knowledge day: “New challenges in grid stability and the future role of testing and innovation laboratories” . A session entitled “Stability challenges in inverter-based power systems and advanced HIL ( hardware in-the-loop) testing techniques” was delivered by Georgia Saridaki (ICCS-NTUA) in which initial results regarding converter driven stability studies in the demo site of Gaidouromantra in Kythnos, Greece have been presented. The presentation was followed by a very fruitful Q&A session in which the need of exploring the interactions between the inverter based resources and the grid has been highlighted along with the extraction of respective stability conditions for different microgrid topologies which will be validated through hardware in-the-loop simulations.
